If you have to search high and low just for one or two ingredients, chances are you may not get around to actually using the recipe. Of course, in this case, consider substituting some hard to find ingredients with other choices that are more readily available. At least this way you can say this is your own recipe!

Does the cooking method breakfast your lifestyle? The first thing you may want to consider about the cooking method is how healthy is it? If a recipe calls for deep frying, consider baking/roasting instead. If you absolutely would like to use the higher fat cooking method, try not to use it often. Another important factor is do you have the right tools and if not, do you know how to make modifications? For example if a recipe calls for steamed vegetables, and you do not own a steamer, could you boil the vegetables instead? Also, consider how much time is required from start to finish, including preparation and actual cooking time. If it is a long process, ask yourself if you have the patience!

Be aware of the slushies value. Can you modify any unhealthy ideas for more nutritious ones? Especially if you have medical health issues (diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, any food allergies) be careful to follow the guidelines set out by your doctor.
